Using Interactive Whiteboards Effectively in Sociology

This course is designed to be of relevance to all teachers of sociology. It will focus upon the effective use of interactive whiteboards in teaching and learning and the development of resources. The speaker will demonstrate the full range of techniques for using an interactive whiteboard, but there will also be 'hands on' sessions for participants to try things for themselves.

A Beginner's Guide to Using Interactive Whiteboards across the Curriculum

Delegates will learn some Whiteboard tricks of the trade to keep students engaged, enthusiastic, and learning fast. This is a "Hands-On" course, during which colleagues will practise adding sound, video and external links to IWB presentations, as well as creating activities such as "the box of truth" and "scratchcards", which will have students desperate to come to the board.

Practical examples will be analysed and discussed together with the implications for schemes of work and for detailed lesson planning.
