Assessing Pupil Progress (APP) in Citizenship

The course will examine APP and AfL in Citizenship. Delegates attending this course will come away with a real appreciation of the principles of AfL and APP and how it can enhance the learning experience for students in Citizenship.

The tutor will provide constructive advice on how to implement APP and strengthen the AfL strategy in Citizenship to have a direct impact on achievement and self esteem of students. Suzanne will provide attendees easy to implement advice on how to manage APP and demonstrate best practice in Citizenship in light of the AfL strategy.

Becoming a Citizenship Rich School

Citizenship
The course will investigate the practical aspects of developing your institution into a Citizenship Rich School and help you support "young people to become active citizens who make a positive contribution to society" through whole school dimensions. Delegates will explore what constitutes good provision and discuss the advantages, disadvantages and implications of key methods of citizenship delivery. How does it impact at whole school level?

Citizenship Matters At Key Stage 4

Citizenship
With effect from September 2002, all schools must deliver the Citizenship programme of study. Delegates on this course will complete a workshop exercise to help plan for Citizenship, investigate OCR, Edexcel and AQA assessment and accreditation options, find out about the implementation of Key Stage 4 Citizenship programme of study (QCA), look at different curriculum audit accreditation methods and investigate Citizenship coursework issues.

Developing as a Highly-effective Citizenship Co-ordinator

Delegates will explore what is meant by the "desired provision" and discuss the advantages, disadvantages and implications of the methods of Citizenship delivery.
