New diversity legislation (SENDA, amended SENDA and Disability Equality Duty) has grave implications for non-compliance, including huge fines and poor inspection grades. This course will explain what schools need to know and do about the legislation and to put in place a structure of policy and training so you stay within the law and your pupils can fulfil their potential. Knowing the implication of the most common neuro-diverse conditions will inform your behaviour management schemes and increase understanding, tolerance and relationships between staff, pupils and management. SENCOs can work operationally in the school, but the correct strategic framework has got to be in place.
