These are exciting times in education, changes in GCSE Art and Design courses give every art department an opportunity to review and evaluate what they do and to develop future courses that are "fit for purpose" for the 21st century teenager. Departments need to take ownership of their courses using the assessment objectives creatively and objectively.

This course will be about planning and delivering an exciting and relevant course which will enthuse and motivate students and teachers. The use of new technologies and the challenges of using contemporary art craft and design as a focus will also be part of this day. KS4 should now clearly link with the pedagogy of KS3; active learning (with students taking ownership of their own learning) is at the heart of this.
