in which students most often underachieve. It will  examine the requirement for the appraisal of work in  units 1 and 2 and will explore exactly what is needed to  gain higher marks. Examples of pupils' work will be  used to stimulate discussion.
  
    The course will also take a detailed look at the listening  examination, identifying how candidates can best  approach the different types of questions and explore  the kinds of answers that will achieve marks. Common  pitfalls and how to avoid them will be considered, and  teaching strategies to support students in developing  and applying their listening skills to the demands of an  intensive listening paper will be discussed.
