PSHE Education is most effective when pupils feel motivated and enjoy the activities and lessons provided. This can only happen when teachers feel confident and skilled in their abilities; delivering relevant and appropriate topic material and utilising a wide range of teaching methods.
All too often teachers are asked to deliver PSHE with little or no training. This course is intended to fill that Professional Development gap by providing you with the opportunity to examine values, increase the number of strategies at your disposal and practice lesson ideas that you can use in the classroom.
The aims of the course are to:
  * Learn about National Strategies and current developments in PSHE Education
  * Understand the importance of setting up and managing a safe environment for PSHE Education
  * Examine values in the context of PSHE Education
  * Familiarise yourself with and gain confidence in using active learning approaches to Sex and Relationships and Drugs Education
