The course focuses on developing dynamic and effective assessment strategies for GCSE performing arts, drama and expressive arts courses. In order to facilitate this - It will investigate a range of strategies to develop independent learning in students; many of whom may be at the beginning of their exploration of the arts. This will be allied with advice on dynamic methods of capturing assessment that enhances knowledge and skills rather than simply documenting the process. There will be an exploration of how to initiate an authentic vocational experience for the learners as a means of generating practical and written work that begins to integrate theory in practice and vice versa. Through this process teachers will have a clearer understanding of how they can assist learners in producing vibrant portfolios and written documents that accurately reflect the performance or production process.
