The New Inspection Framework and Secondary Schools: Preparation, Processes and Outcomes

Course code:
LEAD021
From September 2009, the new Ofsted inspection framework was introduced with significant changes in key areas of provision and outcomes. It is essential for senior leaders to understand fully the new limiting judgements around safeguarding and equal opportunities as well as the change to the descriptors for attainment, progress and achievement. The use of data to track the progress of different groups and to make judgements on past and current performance is critical before and during the inspection. The new SEF must reflect the new criteria and schools are expected to be evaluative in their assessment of their provision and outcomes.

This one day course will outline the key changes of the new framework and the inspection process and will offer practical guidance to senior leaders on completing their new SEF. Delegates are encouraged to bring a copy of their own school SEF as well as their latest RAISE online. During the day, there will be a session where schools can develop their own SEFs in consultation with the trainer.
