This course, aimed at secondary teachers, addresses  the new Ofsted framework and the National  Strategies agenda of ensuring that gifted students  should achieve their potential. Delegates will explore  and discuss the underlying reasons why vulnerable  groups of students do not make good progress,  including new arrivals, gifted EAL students and those  with dual or multiple exceptionalities.
  
  The course will provide practical approaches to  personalisation through exploration of data, student  voice and lesson planning through which delegates  will become skilled in applying strategies to engage  and to challenge gifted learners. The course will  include examples of successful classroom strategies  based on the Classroom Quality Standards (CQS)  and will suggest approaches to mentoring and  monitoring gifted students in order to maximise  progress.
