The course will explore coaching and mentoring skills for the LSA as a way of working with pupils to support and encourage them in their development. The tutor will demonstrate how effective coaching and mentoring skills of an LSA can enhance their pupils’ skills, capabilities, motivation and attainment. The course develops a range of skills for the LSA – listening, questioning, observing without judging, clarifying current reality, drawing out the meaning of experiences and feelings and agreeing action to help pupils to help themselves.
