This one day course for all who teach RE will enable teachers to make more effective use of the 8 level scale for RE in ways that build up pupils' awareness of their own learning through assessment for learning methods. Delegates will receive six complete multi religious examples of excellent tasks to use at key stage three and the day will be practically focussed on the learning needs of pupils from level 3 to level 7.

Delegates who attend this course will receive clear guidance surrounding the correct use of the 8 level scale for RE, a comprehensive set of 'tools' to make assessment for learning work in the RE classroom - and numerous examples of excellence in setting RE assessment tasks that will enable all pupils to see what they can do and clarify how they can improve their RE work.

Teachers will feel more confident to improve their assessment practice through the processes of planning, task setting and classroom teaching and learning. Self, peer and teacher assessment will be examined together with marking, recording and reporting. The course will use examples from many different religions and will balance the assessment of learning about religion with the assessment of learning from religion.
