This course will provide opportunities for geography teachers to develop their understanding and practice of teaching at AS and A2 with the specific intention of raising student attainment in geography. At the same time the day will provide strategies for raising student confidence, enjoyment and appreciation of the subject, with a view to encouraging more students to continue with their geographical studies.
The course will be practical to the everyday classroom and is very much based on real experiences and activity and will explore course aims, schemes of work, teaching and learning methods, lesson content, fieldwork, assessment and evaluation all with a focus on the outcome of raising student performance within the context of enjoying the subject.
