We live in a fast moving age in the 21st century. Traditional notions of Art and Design evolve and change to reflect this…..but, in some secondary schools the art curriculum is rooted in the past and is not delivering teaching and learning experiences relevant to the teenager of today. This course is for those teachers who want to move forward and looks at ways that we can engage with contemporary practice in the classroom. You will share examples of good practice and see exemplar work from other schools in KS3 and KS4/KS5 You will look at the role of new media and technologies and ways that it can be used in teaching and learning. You will learn how to engage young people with more challenging art forms through effective questioning and by developing higher level thinking skill.
